if your question is should I limp preflop, then my answer is yes. but A6o is basically where I draw the line

I would probably muck that hand preflop, but the limp in is totally fine. And when the flop disagreed with you you folded. Not bad.

looks fine. Both calls would be close decisions that add to variance. I think this is fine. Otherwise, I suggest you raise the flop.

Blah. I muck A6o, but I call A5o when I feel frisky.

Personally I'd bet this flop with my gutshot+overcard hand.

I agree with Chris.

If you're gonna limp with A6o then you must bet a flop like this.

Although I don't think a bet would be too bad here, I would argue that if you feel this flop is an autobet and never check/fold then you should NOT be limping pf and should consider NOT playing any marginal hands pf. Taking hands like these too far could cost you a lot of money, especially against loose opponents. There are times when I will play a flop like this aggressively but it certainly shouldn't be as automatic as you make it sound, IMO. I would say that MOST of the time I play this hand out exactly as it was.

edit: I'll also add that if I did feel it was a good time to make a play at the pot on a borderline semibluff then I like bisonbison's idea of check/raising better.

How is betting the flop taking the hand too far?
