High frequency of frightening flops, is this normal?
Ok, im new to online gambling but I've been learning about hold em for about a year now, a novice yes but not completely naive. I'm playing on party poker and it seems that more than half of the flops turn into monster makers. For a few weeks, in games my friends and I have been involved in, it seems an abnormally high number of 4-card straight or flushs on board, boards pairing or two pairing, ect keep hitting, sometimes back to back. It seems that the rainbow flop rarely if ever come and usually they catch runners to a flush. People joke that this is all rigged and I'm sure it isnt since so many people seem to play on it with few complaints and maybe everyone will write this off but I think its odd of how frequent these scary boards are appearing, am I alone?

Re: High frequency of frightening flops, is this normal?
It seems that the rainbow flop rarely if ever come
if you look just at suits, the cards can flop 64 ways - clubs, clubs, clubs; clubs, clubs, diamonds; etc of these 64 ways only 24 are rainbow flops - clubs, diamonds, hearts; clubs, diamonds, spades; etc therefore you can expect to see rainbow flops only three times in every eight deals or 37.5% of the time, over a long period using a simulator you can find that if you have five opponents seeing the flop with random cards, almost 30% of the time that at least two cards of the same suit flop, at least one of the five will finish with a flush combining these two facts, a flush appearing about once in every five hands might be regarded as the norm, rather than as an indication of something being wrong with the deal e & oe |
