3/6 - 6 handed - I'm in SB with K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] .
The loose passive terrible player is UTG, plays pretty much anything and takes it too far. Preflop, UTG calls, fold, fold, fold, Hero (SB) raises, BB folds, UTG calls. Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Ugh. Hero bets, UTG calls. Turn: A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero bets, UTG calls. River: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero bets, UTG calls. Showdown, he has A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I lose. I'm sure I played this badly, with hindsight should have c-r the flop. Whether or not this is the +EV play normally I'm keen to hear. Terrible player will only call a c-r even if he has a Queen, probably. Anyone get away from this anywhere or play differently? Is anyone check-raising the flop? Or the turn? Still calling if then bet into? He would have bet out with a 9 or a Q or an Ace. |

Against the player you describe, a check/raise is out of the question. You said it yourself: a passive player will only bet a Q here.
For the rest of the hand, you played it fine. |

i play it the same...
you will win this hand far more times that you lose it against a player like the one you described... |
