Default online tracking software: illegal or not?

I have gone a year without Poker Tracker or Poker Office.
I now am considering purchasing one or both of these programs.

Currently I mainly play at Party Poker 75%, Ultimate Bet 25%.

I recently read on recpoker, that one or both of these programs may now be consider illegal and cheating at Party Poker. I have sent PP 2 emails asking for clarification but have not received a response.

Does anyone know the straight skinny...
thanks

It would be completely impossible for pokertracker to be considered cheating.

There is software out there (not PokerTracker) which uses a file sharing system so that you can share your hole cards with other players in the same room. This sw is illegal and I believe the sites are trying to stop that.

I believe you are confusing PokerTracker with this.
