Default Blind Defense and Bluffing

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (7 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, CO raises, Button folds, SB folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Hero raises, CO calls.

Turn: (4.25 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, CO folds.

Final Pot: 5.25 BB

I happened to know this guy has made a few posts on 2+2, none in micro or SS though.
I figured he was playing reasonably tight aggressive ABC.

2 questions:

Is that hand worth a call in the BB?

Is it worth making a bluff like this at micro, when you are fairly certain your hand is second best?

PS. I checked with the intention of raising and betting the turn if called.

I guess one way to find out is to call down, but he could have anything from a pocket pair, to KQ or KJ suited (from the play I've seen at the tables so far...I play at the same limits at the moment.) Of course, more likely he has A with a higher kicker than yours.

I'm rather new to the game, but I would fold this and let him have it.

Hi-
I have the same questions.
My potentialy wrong answers are:
Yes, I think this is an ok preflop call. Especially with your read on him. It's heads up and it could be a steal attempt. In general, I don't think its good to bluff, but again, with your read and the fact that it's heads-up...I think so?

His raise smells like a steal. He could have any ace, or any two face cards. I wouldn't assume you have the second best hand before the flop or after.

Well played.

Very well played. I very much like the check raise on the flop rather than betting. I would actually assume I had the best hand and play it accordingly against a very likely steal.

I like the flop check-raise because it is a much stronger play than betting, and is interpreted by your opponent as a much stronger play. This takes the steal away from him and forces him to actually have a hand to continue to play on the turn (which he usually will not have).

Gotta love the Blind anti steal tactics, raise the flop and lead out the turn no matter what comes Good play

If you tried this move on me, I'd raise the turn, and you'd vomit. I rock!

Actually it really depends on whether or not you think this dude will steal from CO. If he has two broadway cards, A high could very well be good, but if you get raised on the turn you're really going to be cursing yourself for fighting over this puny pot with A high.

Not saying its a bad play though, just player dependent.

I like how you played it.

If he's aggressive and capable of stealing with a wide range of hands I would strongly consider 3-betting preflop.
