Medium Soooted Connectors 101
I have a couple of questions about the play of medium suited connectors. I know that they are not to be played in a raised pot, only in loose-passive type games with a lot of limping, but not a lot of raising. Anyway, the questions:
-What exactly are you looking to flop when you play, say, 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ? -If you do get your flop, how aggressively do you play it? If you get someone playing back at you if you bet out, is it time to dump them? -Would this be any different in a cash game than in a tourney...would you be less likely to play the SC in a cash game? -What do y'all think of the one-gappers (i.e., 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img])? Thanks. |

Re: Medium Soooted Connectors 101
i'm looking for 2 pair, trips, OESD, flush draw, etc... if i hit top pair with the 7 or 8, i'll take a stab.. if i encounter much resistance, it's time to let it go. i play a tight game, however, so this may not be what you like. <shrug>. not much chance i'm laying down any of the hands i mentioned above (except 1 pair of course). i tend to play more aggressive in tourneys - not sure if this is correct play, but it seems easier for me to make aggressive plays (but smart laydowns) in SNGs.. i tend to play suited gappers, but my [limited] poker tracker stats show a negative expectation for these hands so far.
