Default Alternatives to Kazaa O/T

Been out of the file sharing realm for a while, would like to get back in it. I remember Kazaa came with some pretty nasty adware. Anybody got some good alternatives?

For bitorrent you install the program and then need to use websites to search for content. I've never really gotten comfortable using it. The website www.suprnova.org is the only one I've ever gotten to work.

Soulseek is my current app of choice.

It's a P2P file sharing app, the main difference is that when users are downloading a file, they are also uploading it to others. There is no traditional client software, everything is web-based, so searching google for "bittorrent links" will start you on your path to finding content.

Greetings,

You can use Kazaa in conjunction with Diet K. Diet K removes all the spyware from your system whilst still allowing Kazaa to run. Emule is good for older stuff. For anything in the sub-week old period, you want to use bittorrents. Suprnova is the best source of torrents, and Azureus is probably the best torrent client.

ESPN WSOP torrents should be up in the next 12 hours i'd imagine.

Have fun,
Punter

Get Kazaa Lite -- It's Kazaa without all the adware...only problem is that Kazaa Lite was taken offline, because it got hit with a copyright lawsuit (because some tech kid essentially reverse engineered the Kazaa program to remove the adware). So now it's very hard to find on websites.

SOLUTION: Download Kazaa -- USE it to search for and find Kazaa Lite! Then uninstall Kazaa, and install the Kazaa Lite program that you downloaded! A nice little circle of illegality there for you, but it worked perfectly for me, and I'm a happy Kazaa lite user now.

Oh - and lastly, then you should run Spybot and/or Adaware to remove any stuff Kazaa may have left behind after you uninstalled it, although this shouldn't be a problem.

Another recommendation for Kazaa lite here... make sure that you don't pay for it though. Some sites will act like it's some sort of pay service, but I've had it for free for almost a couple years now. Just find it somewhere for free.
