$55- tough trips situation
Is there a better line? Should i fold on flop? Is this an EASY fold? No real reads... the play is so strange.

Re: $55- tough trips situation
Not a terrible fold by any means, but i like 3 bet pushing the flop.

Re: $55- tough trips situation
I agree with both parts. I still call, but don't think the fold is terrible, and I'd rather 3-bet push the flop.

Re: $55- tough trips situation
The problem with 3 bet pushing the flop is that your opponent will only call with hands that beat you but not call you with a queen. The only hands better than you that fold are MAYBE j9 and j10.

Re: $55- tough trips situation
A very bad player is going to push because he's excited he has trips. A solid player will push with a draw or a Q, figuring he can get you to fold a similar hand. A very solid player will push trips to charge you if you're drawing.
So it's entirely dependant on what you think of him, and what he thinks of you. In general I call. It's far more likely he's got a hand that he'd prefer not to see a showdown with than it is he's got the case jack or a boat. |

Re: $55- tough trips situation
Lots of times Q will call. People love to think you are bluffing. If he has a Jack most likely we're both getting our money in there. If he could have a very good draw here. Let him either overpay for it or fold and I'll just take the pot.
I don't think OPs line is too bad though, especially if he calls. |

Re: $55- tough trips situation
wow, so many calls... what do u put oponent on? what cards would he play isn this manner? Does the min raise not scare anyone? I AM TERRIFIED OF MINRAISES!
Is it too weak of me to fold on turn after giving away initiative? |

Re: $55- tough trips situation
Actually, after reevaluating, the minraise could be interpreted as just a high queen that is trying to get the drawing hands out, but he doesn't want to get too involved in case you have the jack. He wants to see what you'll do.
