Yup, I wanted a call from a queen there. I was afraid if I pushed instantly I would fold a queen with a weak kicker or a smaller pair. So, my play worked, just had poor results.

At this home tourney I was at, one guy busted with 3 players left because he had the "sucker end" of a straight flush.

how about this one? Hero has AA and bets 3 1/2 times the blinds. BB, who is big stack calls. Flop comes A37. Hero pushes with 5 times the pot size. BB calls with 46o and hits straight.

Going into the river he had 7 outs. 7/44 ~ 1/6 so he'll draw out on you about 1/6th of the time. If this is your most painful hand, you haven't experienced poker pain yet.

Yeah it sux, but it happens.

its the one outers that are heart breaking. Until you bust out with a 96.5% chance to win on the turn, you havent felt pain.

Yeah, it wasn't the fact that I lost. I've busted out with bigger edges. It was just that queen showing up that really blew me away.
