Just to emphasize a point that was hinted at earlier: DO NOT EAT AT THE BUFFET, EVEN IF IT IS COMPED. I was dismayed how bad this was. They even messed up the Mac & Cheese. This buffet would cost about $5 in Vegas.

buffet had alot of crap food.. wasn't horrible though.. cheap food, crap food.. but not horrible.. a little less quality than mcdonalds tho. actually alot. but hey..

The Stage Deli has good typical NY deli food. The poker snack bar is reasonably good and cheap. The buffet is way overpriced for very ordinary food. There is not much open all night.

If I have a comp I usually head to the snack bar which is open until 9 M-T and 1 F-S. If you don't know how to find it (as many don't), you need to take the hidden elevator which is behind the shift managers podium. It takes you to some hidden spot somewhere in the building which I don't think you can get to any other way.

During the week you might be able to get a noodle bar comp. I heard that the poker room can't give those on weekends anymore.

Otherwise, if paying cash, I'll head to the Deli which is up a level and all the way around past Mark Anthony's. Open all night (I think, I've eaten there at 3 am) and get a sandwich or something.

The buffet at Bombay does suck...but I think the buffet upstairs (Sultan's) is actually really good with alot of good food. Costs $20 but is def worth it in my opinion (particularly when it's comped lol).

Any buffet enthusiasts playing at the Taj would do a lot better just walking next door to the showboat. The showboat buffet is way better than either of the Taj buffets.

How easy is it to get comps to that cafe? I just assumed you have to use your hourly credits - is there some other way to get it for free?

As far as I know, that is indeed the case

[/ QUOTE ]

That is correct, but many people neglect to take the opportunity to ask. I get a $5 every 5 hours at 3-6 there. If you play higher, I'm sure they will acummulate quicker.

Taj Comps FYI (Borgata is the same)

1-3 and 1-5 stud, 2-4 Hold Em: 50 cent an hour
3-6 and 5-10: $1 per hour
10-20 and up: $2 per hour

i would suggest the grilled cheese and soup from the upstairs snackbar. that combination is the best thing Trump has ever made.
