Re: On Tilt re: JJ
[ QUOTE ]
4th best? Certainly not in a 10max ring game. Dont know the exact order but it is something like AA, KK, AKs, QQ, AKo, AQs, JJ. JJ is horrible becuase it is just high enough to hold its own but if a A or K flops you have to tread carefully [/ QUOTE ] I'll take JJ over AQs anyday. Anyway, my stats w/JJ: 56% winning over the last 20k hands, 1.28bb/hand. Folks, you have got to stop treating preflop hands like they are the solution for your postflop problems. JJ isn't the problem most of the time; the problems is that you guys underplay or overplay them postflop. The money in this game is made after the flop. Sure, JJ can be a tricky hand to play postflop sometimes. So can AKs, or QQ, or TT, or 99, QJs, KJs, JTs...you get my point. Oh, and when JJ gets beat, it isn't really getting "cracked." It's a damned good hand, but it isn't invulnerable. Rob |

(and BTW, AQ = less BB/hand.) I wouldn't worry with only 2200 hands. If you're worried about how you're playing JJ, post some trouble hands. -Brian |

Re: On Tilt re: JJ
I had JJ cracked 4/4 times last night, including once when I made a set on the flop, then lost when a 4-flush came on the river to 25.
JJ is a great hand. I don't see how people don't raise it pre-flop. It increases your chances of taking down the pot without a showdown, and it forces worse hands to put in an extra bet before the flop. And it "connects" with the flop much more than something like AQ. |

Re: On Tilt re: JJ
Yeah I agree. People fall in love with AK/AQ because they are "bettable" on just about anyflop. Say the flop is KT4. AQ is much more bettable then JJ. As someone else said, it is the 4th best hand in terms of earning power. Raise it at pretty much every opportunity preflop.

Re: On Tilt re: JJ
It does not connect with the flop more often than AQ. AQ has 6 outs to really connect with the flop, and JJ has two.
Unless you mean that JJ connecting means the flop is all cards ten and under. |

Re: On Tilt re: JJ
Exactly what I mean. You can't compare the amount of times JJ makes a set with the amount of times AQ makes top pair because a set is so much stronger than top pair, so I'm comparing the amount of times JJ finds an undercard flop (giving it better than top pair) to the amount of times AQ makes top pair.

[/ QUOTE ] How hard does AQ connection with a 359 flop? What about JJ? Your "two connections" vs "six connections" argument is flawed. |
