It's a check/fold on the flop for me.

I dunno. I think this reeks of FPS. I routinely check-fold the flop.

IMO there is a real risk of the turn checking through. Besides, I am on a steal. I want to take it down with one bet.

Against four other players? and a flush draw on the board, and the top card that has just paired?

I would have probably check-folded. If I wanted to steal, I would have invested two big bets: Check-raise the flop and bet the turn. But again, I don't like to do this against four players on this board.

I wanted to win 7 with one bet. It was the last bet I intended to put in the pot. 2 of the opponents were posters, by the way.

without being results oriented an knowing that the jack is coming on the turn, i still think that if you're going to steal then you should have check/raised the flop. what was your plan if the turn was a blank? lead out? you probably intended to make a move anyway since you called the flop, so why not set it up beforehand with a check/raise? the line you took looks too suspicious imo. just trying to figure out what you were thinking exactly.
