Call the turn and raise the river. If he re-raises the river you can safely fold. There are a bunch of advantages to this line over the one you describe, including that it allows the opponent to continue with a bluff and reduces the chance of getting re-raised either (a) on a bluff when you might fold, or (b) when you're behind but with a hand that you can't fold.

I think this line is most productive in tougher games where you're opponents are actually paying attention. If they see you're 3betting the turn w/ TPTK, you'll add value to the times you are 3betting w/ sets, flushes etc. As well as reducing the c/r bluffs on you.
I think the reason you don't do this often, and most of us don't is because we have good game selection, and aren't up against someone that would make this line affective. |
