Aggression is good in a lot of situations. However, raising a weak king is bad IMO, especially in a small pot. You are folding K10 like 0% of the time. You are folding a hand like 77 or JJ that will incorrectly call one on the flop (not to mention bets on the turn and river). You are getting 3bet by a bigger king or a set, or a semi-bluff (so either you have to call down with a worse hand or get bluffed out of the pot). And by calling, we collect bets from hands that are calling incorrectly, and we lose the least when we're behind.

For instance, I want them to fold better kings. That would be a mistake

how often do they do that versus peel one (when they would have folded for 2) with a 4 or ace high?

and he'll cold call with JJ, but fold a better king?

This thread has gotten long, can you repost the sample hand and indicate the title for us?

I would raise the flop with a K in this case, yes. but seeing why is the important part

You just made it one post longer. It has gone off-topic, true, but I still think it's an interesting discussion, one that we all can benefit from in one way or another. If the original poster is offended, I apologize.

Okay, cool. Why would you raise the flop, Sir?

I probably still wouldn't for the reasons outlined above. Give me something like J9s on and turn the king into a jack and I raise.

EDIT: Maybe I'm wrong though so I want to hear what people think. I just think that I want to see a showdown as cheaply as possible, don't want to slow down worse hands, and I'm not too afraid of giving free cards as I have a pair of kings on a dry board.

with a weak K, because the pot is big enough that I would like pairs and gutshots to fold...but it's close. Heads Up I would call with a K against the bettor, but here there are 2 other players
