I believe I can do it!!! I have printed out this picture and put it on my dresser where I normally keep my cigarettes for that first smoke in the morning.

GL Steve. I'd really hate to see those f*ckers get a dime of your money. Your buddy really should choose something more distasteful to a conservative, like Moveon.org. Damn, I hope he loses.
Do not be afraid of the patch. While on it you will remain addicted to nicotine, but will begin to break the Stimulus-Response Cycle that makes the addiction so potent. Step down slowly. Understand you WILL have some cravings, and you WILL gain 10-20 pounds. Hang in there. Exercise daily, avoid alcohol and have lots of sex. All will help.

Has anyone quit with the patches and how do they make you feel, I tried them about 8 years ago, and the ones I had then made me itch horribly.
Have they got better? Steve

I know a few people who have used the patch. They complain that you are buzzing for the first four hours but you can't really control cravings. Since the delivery of nicotine tapers off, after about 12 hours you start freaking out and really needing some nicotine. Supposedly the gum or inhaler are better cause you use it when you need it. This is all second hand though, when I quit I did it cold turkey. It obviously didn't stick, I"m smoking while I write this.
