How often do you expect a weaker hand to bet this river? Seriously?

given the action up to the river, lots!

I kind of like a start-stop-start kind of line: bet the flop, check the turn, bet the river, a la Mason's article about his KT hand in a recent 2+2 magazine.

I love the turn check because I don't want to give an aggro. opponent the opportunity to bluff me off the best hand, (and similarly I want to give him the opportunity to bluff or bet a worse hand). But I really would not like to let my opponent check behind a hand like AT or even JJ here.

I like it. I think it loses the least and gives a worse hand the chance to play at it.

A10 literally will never check the river in this game. JJ may not be able to pay off a bet (though he prob doesn't bluff it himself, why not give him a chance). The river is an interesting spot.
