Slow Down, You Move Too Fast

80-160 Hold Em at Borgata. I have A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the SB. Folded to a loose player who opens for a raise. Others fold to me and I make it three bets. We see the flop heads up and board comes down A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] rainbow style. I bet and my opponent calls. The turn card is the K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I check, my opponent bets and I call. The river is a small offsuit brick. I check, my opponent bets and I call. What do we think of this line?

It's fine. You make the same as a bet/call scenario, allow your opponent to bluff, and lose the least when behind.

What position was he in when he opened, how aggressive is he postflop?

Sometimes (and it varies based on the above) I think you should bet the river.

This quote sounds good to me, This is the classic WA/WB scenario. I dont think you can ever take the bet/fold line on this turn against this player and being faced with calling a raise on the turn is not a great situation either. I wouldve played this hand the same way as you against this opponent.

**Note: I play low-stakes NL tournies, so am very out of my league.**

What about bet/fold turn? Doesn't this often save us a bet when behind and earn us the same when we're ahead? I doubt many hands in villain's range fold turn.

I don't like the river.

What if he raises with an ace he wants to show down and not a king? Then you lay down the best hand. Also, he may fold some weak shite he peeled the flop with but your check may inspire him to bluff at least once.
