This is my last set from yesterday. Opponent was 39/32/2.33 and tilting after 130 hands (i did not know the correct stats at the time, but i felt he was way out of line a lot).

I can't see not bet-calling the flop is he is tilting and out of line. Then continue with the bet-3bet line. Depending on the kind of tilt I'm looking out, just holding down the raise button can be the right move.

This one I think I played pretty bad on flop.

I lead that flop without a read on CO. It will have hit a lot of limpers but limpers will call more hands then they bet.

Given that you called I think I like a turn cr better than a donk. The reason is the 3rd player dropped. You will get a lot of desperation stabs from people with nothing when they are faced with 1 opponent after they invest 1 bet on the flop. If the turn was a A or K I think you have to bet because those cards will scare weak made hands. On this board, weak made hands and bluffs will continue with a bet.

I don't much like the river. I like a read before I go calling raises on the river of a 4 straight board. Are you good 1-11 here? If the card is a possible 2 pair making card I mind a bet/call less but the 8 makes a lot more straights than 2 pairs. Sometimes I will bet fold this river. Reads make a big difference.

Too weak, put another raise in on the turn.

It really looks like he completely annihilated you. If you are raising the flop to misrepresent your hand to the TAG by making a weak hand forceout raise, then I like it. If you are raising the flop because you have a set, I don't like it. Flop cap is fine.

Turn raise is good. Turn cap is fair. I think by this point it's clear the SB will come along with a flush draw. But at some point the TAG has to include sets in your range enough to slow down. For instance I wouldn't 3-bet that turn with anything other than JJ. If I have aces I know at a minimum if I'm ahead I'm losing 20% equity to the flush draw. I'm willing to just see the river for 2 bets on the turn.

This seems like a perfect case where it looks like the 3rd player subsidizing your raises in case you are behind makes you want to put extra bets in the pot. But that assumes you are ahead a good amount and I don't think you are here. I don't cap the turn.

The river is just nasty. Absolutely nasty. I hope you won. Results?

Perfect. The flop call and turn check raise are perfect because the other 2 players dropped. Villian bets this turn close to 100% of the time. Turn cap + river lead = good.

I raise the turn. A lot of time a bet like that is looking for action. A weak hand is going to bet/fold or check/fold but a strong hand is looking to bet/3-bet. Now he check folded the river so he didn't have anything this time but I think not raising the turn against his range of hands is a mistake. I like the flop call very much ( drawless board is crucial ).

I thought you were waiting to berate somebody for "protecting" their set in a smallish pot. ARen't you saying that if there was draws present you should protect? Or just play faster because action is more likely?

This is embarrassing. I can't believe I played this so poorly.

CO is a bomb, Button is a mouse.

Party Poker 5.00/10.00 Hold'em <font color="#0000FF">(6 handed)</font> link

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 folds</font>, CO calls, Button calls, <font color="#666666">1 folds</font>, Hero checks.
I don't hate this, I'd raise one limper or with 99, but I'm sure some people will say raise 88 OOP against 2.

Flop: (3.40 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">CO bets</font>, Button calls, Hero calls.
Not betting this flop sucks. My excuse was that I was trying to do 5 tables and had forgetton the pre-flop action, but that's no excuse. When action came back to me, I thought I might be better off trapping Button for two on a big street.

Turn: (3.20 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">CO bets</font>, Button calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO 3-bets</font>, Button calls, Hero calls.
I actually started geting worried about KJ here. Awful.

River: (12.20 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
Hero checks, CO checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, CO calls, Button calls.
Well, now that I realize he doesn't have KJ, at least I get to do something sexy.

I lost at least ~2 BB on this hand, probably more.
