Default Crypto £1/2)

I am currently playing £1/2. Many of the players at the table have a PFR of <8% often <5% and a VP£IP around 20%. ON being beaten by one player AK vs my A10 I asked him why he never raised preflop (his PFR is around 2%). His answer as some garbled crud about some tables being different from others. My questions are:
1/ Are there any reasons for limping in with big hands like AK, KK (all the time from any position) preflop at this level?
2/ any strategies for beating these types players with VP£IP 20%ish and PFR <8%

P.S: I did put him on limping in with a better kicker so checked the river.
