Default Can playing as a lag/maniac be profitable?

I decided to step down to 3/6 and try playing a much looser, much more action ridden game. During my days in 5/10 I noticed 2 things: LAGs got lots of action with their good hands and LAGs lost a ton of money in the long run. (Even in the short run). So I decided to play 45/30/3+ for a few hundred hands to see the general feel I got.

I was looking at why they were losing money in my games and although it was partially because they played too many hands, they were paying off other peoples' hands by raising too much when they were beat.

Is it possible, with very good to excellent postflop play, for a LAG to make money? What do you think the limit to VPIP etc are in order for the lag to be most profitable?
