Given your description of the villian I think raising the flop would be bad here. I would also cap preflop (although it worked out nicely when the flop hit you!).

I would consider raising the river because of the fact that he may be tilting.

this means raising early is not an option. ill raise the river sometimes or ill just call sometimes. probably more of the latter.
