The word I got was the final 36 of the main will be downtown, it's the 100th year anniversary of Las Vegas, and I figure it must have been in the deal that was made, since it's different owners now.

Not sure when Binion's jumped the shark as far as a poker room, but I think it might have been well before the last WSOP.

I've played there a couple of times in the last couple of months and the dealer's are well below average, it's a different crowd down there. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

it is actually final 27.

however, in the new casino player magazine, dalla said he would not be surprised to see them stay at the rio for the entire event.

I was told that part of the contract that sold the WSOP to harrahs stipulated the WSOP final table must be played at Binions, but only this year. I heard that from this year on the WSOP main event will move from Harrahs to Harrahs every year..im not sure if this is true, but all in all the commercilization of this entire event has really taken away from the experience.
I was totally impressed by the even at the Rio, but I still miss the traditional WSOP....i guess with the growth of poker we have lost some things as well

you may be right. on closer look, it seems to be speculation.
