No I don't think you laid down a winner, but I would not have called the turn.

When you called the turn, did you even think about what he might do and how you'd respond on the river? I suspect the answer is that you didn't, and if it is you really need to start considering this.

Also: throw out a 2500 bet on the flop (if these guys are decent, only do this if you will make this bet with a king here too).

Also: I'm very unsure about it, but its possible that a case could be made for min-raising the turn. I'd like to hear people's thoughts on that (idea stolen from Matt Flynn's high stakes thread).

I would have played AK the same way. If the Villain was A rock I know I layed down the loser , but he was pretty Laggy so I was pretty steamed about the all-in. I figured he would check it down fearing the K.

No, I think he had you by the end. [99 maybe, or QJ]

I don't think checking the flop is necessarily wrong - but you're in a way representing a K by doing so. I think you have to follow through with a moderate raise on the turn otherwise he knows you dont have one.

No apart from a complete bluff what are you beating on the end ? Once the Kings are out on the flop you just want to get to the end of the hand without going broke if you want to represent a King raise on the turn otherwise you are through with the hand.

Ross

I think a probing bet on the flop and/or a reraise on the turn was needed. If you held AK would you bet that flop. If so I would make a bet here. He may have JJ's or even AQ but senses your weakness and is making a play. You showed strength PF show some after and if he still pushes then you know you're behind.
