I love the show. But warning to those offended by profanity, there's lots. The over/under for "cokcsukcer" I think is probably 50, per episode.

My wife watched about 3 minutes with me, and quit counting the F-words at 5. As she was leaving the room, she said "They didn't talk that way back then".

I think a case can be made, that Al Swearengen might be the best, most developed, intriguing, charismatic character since Tony Soprano/Homer Simpson.

More Carnivale hijacking

I have thought perhaps Ben and Sophie are brother/sister. This would tie into the incestual undertones sprinkled throughtout the show.

Damn, I never even thought about the whole alpha male/omega female angle. Maybe it means shell be the one who gives birth to the next prophet?

This show is so underrated its criminal

Right. I hear this all the time, and you know what? I bet they did. It wasn't "Little House on the Prarie" or "Bonanza" out there.

If they kill him off, Im afraid I wont be able to get into the show, being as he carries it IMHO

There is a 0% chance they kill of Al unless the show itself is ending.

HBO's trilogy of social commentary on "modern" America and the Bush Administration....

Deadwood = Libertarianism (Those old mining towns were, in fact, the purest implementation of Libertatian values taken to their extreme that ever existed on this continent (though not necessarily "chosen" as such)....

Carnivale = Fundamentalist Christianity (is really the devil's work)

Rome = Empire - undoubtedly, the subtext will address American hegmony and the neo-conservatives' American Exceptionalism and Military adventures

It's Not TV, it's the news in code....
