i watched a show on the science channel about something called M theory (i think M = membrane) that could actually explain the big bang as a collision of membranes floating in 11th dimension space. anyone else hear this??

[/ QUOTE ]

I think it was 12th dimension space.

Keep this in mind, I didn't start this thread and have not attempted to "force" my beliefs upon anyone. I was asked where I stood and and have replied.

It is a mistake to attempt to "force" your beliefs upon anyone. It simply doesn't work.

[/ QUOTE ]

Fair enough. I apologize for my rant... I just get carried away sometimes.

I think I speak for most poker players when I answer:

M. I don't care. Shut up and deal.

against all known scientific principles

Bingo.

How much could science NOT explain hundreds of years ago? Thousands of years ago?

So because science cannot explain something, we default to "God did it?" That's a very progress-oriented approach.

Millions... MILLIONS of people have been killed in human history in religious disputes. People are still being killed today over religious disputes.

If God truly does exist and he is truly all-powerful, surely it would not be too much trouble for an all-powerful, all-loving, eternal Supreme Being to take 5 seconds out of His immortal life and say: "Hey guys - I'm here. STOP KILLING EACH OTHER!"

But alas, no peep out of God.

A mere mortal, imperfect human would not allow his children to suffer if he could do something about it. Are apathy and indifference prerequisites for perfection?
