I'm going to buy playerview. Why? Because I found Gametime to be incredibly frustrating, and thats not good for multitabling poker. I *hate* having to hunt down player names to get it started, and the tags that it use seem to always be in the way of something. Now for one session is this a big deal? No, but 3 times a day 7 days a week it sure is.

Because the upside is so great (hundreds of dollars an hour), we (royal in this case) are willing to shell out whatever it takes in order to earn so much.

If you wrote novels for a living, would you pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars for a pen? If you were a carpenter for a living, would you pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars for a hammer?

A hammer wouldn't be the equivalent to PV. A hammer would be closer to his buying a deck of cards. A more applicable equivalent would be something along the lines of a sliding compound miter saw, which can get quite expensive. I'm sure alot of writers have spent thousands on laptops too.

As for the argument about PV, I think $50 is too high a price. I think a $20 price point would be more in line with what the market would bear. Alot of work went into the product though and Amir's support has been outstanding since day one. I'm sure he has his reasons for pricing it as he has, so I hope he does well with it.
