There are 21k registered users at these forums, I doubt more than 1/3 are long term winning players.

Put simply, when you lose at poker you don't want to talk about it. When you win, you tend to want to talk about poker more when you're not playing.

That's why you only hear about the winners and not the losers.

Ligthen up, it's the internet, yes there is some childish stuff going on here, but 1. it's not everyone and 2. It happens in the real world too.

I am not a huge winner - but I did put away about $5K last year, half of which was from 2 big MTT wins. $5k over 12 months ~$400 a month.

a nice "hobby income" but nothing for me to quit my day job over.

That's right- I have a day job, and friends, and kids, and <GASP> a life.
