You raise some valid points.

You do understand that your example is enormously less favorable for a bet than OP's hand? Aside from the extra player at the flop, it's a full ring table (typically less aggressive players give more free cards), the flop is AQ two-suited (less likely to win immediately by betting), and you raised UTG 10-handed (people expect you to have something on this flop).
