Default Re: coming to a NL game near you...

would you mind to elaborate on some other 'common' angles you have run into? I really liked your explanation and counter. However it is true that this particular angle (and im sure many others) while rather simple to deal with if given time, would be very hard to correctly deal with (without giving away too much info etc.) if a player was surprised by them at the table.

Thank you,
durrrr

the archives are either tempermental or i am a donk. admittedly, it could be the latter, but i think many would agree with me when i say the search function is less than user friendly. Personally, i read the archives more than i read anything. I have all but given up on searching by topic or keyword. All i do is click on poster (limon, El D, Flynn, etc.) and show all users posts and start reading. But now, it seems to have just quit showing posts that are very old or something? For example, i have tried raymer in the past, and only got like 50 posts. As for Limon, his archive ends on 12 29 04. I know he posted way before that because i have read all of them and have several saved; but now i cant go back and find them anymore. At any rate, maybe i am missing something, if anyone knows i would appreciate it; its probably something simple, but i often find my self in owen wilson ben stiller ala "zoolander" mode around computer software..lol.

As far as I can tell, the archives are in 3 seperate areas.

Recent archives, do username search:

Older archives, going back to around 2002:

http://archiveserver.twoplustwo.com/ubbthreads.php

Even older archives:

http://www.twoplustwo.com/archives.html

In the even older archives, 'Poker (older)', 'texas holdem (high stakes)', and 'tournaments' are the places to look for big bet posts by Limon, Zee, Fossilman, Angelo etc.

There does seem to be a few months that I can't find, between late 2001 and late 2002.

card exposing is and always should be an integral part of the big bet experience (along with rabbit hunting, deal making, side bets and tons of other stuff limit nits and tournament geeks hate)

I've come around from the dark side of the nit. In fact, the best no limit game I ever played featured asynchronous action along with all of the above I kept my mouth shut.

Great post/thread.

I find that if you're playing a casino for the first time and you act like newbie (fumbling with chips, not knowing when to post your blinds) you'll draw out the angles shooter. I love knowing who the angle shooters are because in my experience that are not good players.
