RicktheRuler: I think you know the answer to that one but asking me so that you make it seem obvious that since Magic won five and Oscar won only one Magic belongs on the all-time team. I cannot argue with that @ all. You can take the same four players on your team but put Magic @ the 1. I opt for the Big O. Good one on Mad Max.

Everyone arguing about the 4 should read the new Sports Guy column on ESPN.com. He makes some great points. Despite being the most statistically dominant and consistent PF ever, the Mailman was a choke artist. That hurts his greatness.

Bernard King played the three spot and he was light years beyond Scottie. Let us not foget about the great Bill Bradley, he was an outstanding 3. Clyde Drexler and Julius Erving also may be considered 3 guys. Don't forget about Larry Bird.

[ QUOTE ]
17 games! This is just one season and a stretch of games. Did you see the Bulls when Jordan was gone? Tony Kucoc became the go to guy, Pippen was awful. Did you see Pippen when he played in Portland--admittedly with a bunch of clowns--he was awful. [/ QUOTE ] In 93-94, the entire season that was played without Jordan, Pippen averaged 22 pts, 8.7 Reb, 5.6 Assts, 2.93 Stls and shot 49% from the floor. The team went 55-27. The supporting cast was BJ Armstrong, Horace Grant, Toni Kukoc, Bill Cartwright, Scott Williams, Steve Kerr, Luc Longley and Bill Wennington. Scottie Pippen was a god damned superstar. It wasn't until they lost Horace Grant after that year that things fell apart for them. If they didn't go out and get Rodman after 94-95, IMO, they would not have won another championship either. |

Well clearly Larry is has it locked up, I just think Scottie should get some recognition. Great call on Clyde the Glide and Senator Bradley.

With a superb season in 1994-95, Pippen continued to show why he is possibly the best all-around player in the NBA. Discounting the numbers put up by Michael Jordan in 17 late-season games, [/ QUOTE ] !!! this is the stupidest sports argument that i ever heard! i'll let others elaborate (<--sry for that.) |

[ QUOTE ] Discounting the numbers put up by Michael Jordan in 17 late-season games, Pippen led the Chicago Bulls ... [/ QUOTE ] What is that sentence saying? Excluding 17 games? Or only counting 17 specific games? Either way 17 games = 20% of a season ... I don't see how you can choose to either disregard 1/5 of a season or only count it. Scottie doesn't belong on the list, even a dark horse list. [/ QUOTE ] It's talking about the first 65 games of that season before Jordan returned wearing the 45. |
