[ QUOTE ]
So you were driving way too close to the car in front and exceeding the speed limit? You created this "emergency" yourself. Slow down, and leave plenty of space ahead of you - you should be able to stop comfortably within the space you can already see to be empty. You don't need advanced driving lessons to do this, you need to grow up. [/ QUOTE ] There always has to be one self-righteous post like this in the thread. *rolls eyes* Just a hint: Nobody, not even you, does things perfectly legally and/or safely 100% of the time. |

A few years ago my friend was driving on the highway too fast, it was raining. Inbetween our lane and the oncoming lane was 10 yards of dividing grass, and thankfully snow. This is lucky because for a lot of this highway it's just us the oncoming lane with not even a guardrail. The car flipped over twice, and happened so fast can't even call it scary, of the 3 people in the car no one was hurt.

It doesn't affect me how he drives! The fact remains that something as basic as leaving space in front of you doesn't need advanced driving training - you shouldn't be driving at all if you don't understand the basics.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I know its against your instincts but usually its better to just run over what ever it was than try and avoid. I have seen way to many serious accidents from people trying to avoid hitting deer, dogs, boxes, etc; especially in traffic. [/ QUOTE ] Been there, done that. Outstanding advice. [/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty certain you'd be better off trying to avoid hitting a deer rather than running it over. Unless of course you drive a canyonero... [/ QUOTE ] Not even close... I've sent deer airborne spinning head to tail before, on multiple occasions. One time it didn't even dent the car, noticeably. |
