AK has you beat, and i'm sure KK is raising it's flopped set.

but otherwise... i've come around to agree with you

KK doesn't have a set, and AK doesn't have you beat. You're thinking QQ/AQ.

Anybody else like the check-call, check-call, bet line here?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think your opponent is too likely to check behind on this turn for that to be a winning plan. A monotone flop is a completely different beast than a ragged flop on which you make top pair. I am either bet-3betting or check-raising the flop in an effort to gain control of the hand.

Default FSUPLAYER, why are you thinking of switching???

fsuplayer,

I thought you, gonores, and others were making a killing at the 10/20 6max.

If you don't mind, why are you thinking of switching to full ring games?

Why are you thinking about switching to full ring?

a couple of reasons, varying from higher hourly rate, round out myself more as a poker player for future play, but maybe most importantly, I like to switch things up to stay fresh.

I plan on playing these 5/10 for a while, then heading off to the 15's when I feel I am ready. I eventually plan on at least 6 tabling, which I just couldnt do well enough at the 6 max games, due to the pace of hands and higher % of hands played.

To the hand:

I wasnt ever really considering a fold, I should have been more clear, but especially coming from a 6 max backround, calling more is going to take some getting used to. I always like to be in control of the hand, and from what I gather, sometimes this isnt always best in full ring games.

Still not sure whether i like the check/call, check/call, bet the river better than just call, call, call, bc I still have lots of trouble folding to river raises with fairly good hands like this.

thanks for all the info guys,

I will see everyone in here much more now I am quite sure!

edit: oh yeah, he had aces...and they were spectacular!

I am prob. too agg.

WTF is this? I'm gonna pretend I don't know you when we're in the same poker room from now.

As far as the hand goes, I really hate not making some attempt to seize the initiative by the turn here. The free card is too probable and too devastating to not make sure that at least one bet goes in on the turn here. I'd probably get un-fancy here and checkraise the flop.
