Am I missreading this?? The BB 3 bet you on a rainbow ragged board when you have top two and you automatically think set?? Why cant villain have A7/T7.
Anyone who says you arent beating anything here is crazy. Edit: I was misreading, I thought he was BB, Disreguard what I said...he probably has a set or a split or a donk w/ AK. Probably a split. -JP |

Why are you raising this flop? [/ QUOTE ] Looking at previous hands that Garland has posted, he is usually raising or folding when people bet into him on the flop, even with pretty marginal hands. If he were to raise here with hands like AJ and smoothcall with two pair or better, he will be giving up a lot of information about the strength of his hand. I think it would be a mistake to analyze this hand in a vacuum. Raising may not maximize his EV in this individual hand, but if his opponents know he will play fast with big hands he has the chance to steal some pots later... and if his opponents catch him stealing pots, it may get him extra action on hands like this one. If I'm playing anywhere near my best game then this is a pretty easy fold.

I folded, and I thought it was a pretty easy fold despite thinking about it for 15 seconds or so. I just wanted to make sure I was sane. At the very best, I'm splitting with another AT, and at worst, he has a set.
The two things I don't like doing are: (a) slowing playing my monsters and (b) paying off a rock Thanks for all your thoughts. Garland |

Just out of curiosity, and I think that this isn't worth too much discussion, how do you play this hand differently if you're holding 77 and the action is the same?
