Seems like it has to be a set here. With those numbers, he's probably not holding 98.

I agree AK raises PF, looks like a set of 7s to me.

Why are you raising this flop?

What is your suggested line? Calling down?

I have those same stats almost exactly. Saying that, I would fold here. At best you're chopping.

Well, judging by his stats, I doubt he limped 98s here, and I'd be hard pressed to believe he is betting QJs or something of that nature. So that leaves you with him having limped a big ace (A7 out of the question), ATs (maybe), or AA, TT, 77. So he is only reraising you when he has you crushed, unless he is super aggro (which he isn't). I think you make more money from his AK/AQ and lose less when he has TT/77 if you just call the flop. I mean there is nothing to be afraid of on this board, I might be able to see a raise if it was a twotone board, but even then, a flush draw is probably calling you. So what does raising accomplish?

- This eliminates possible broadway and open-ended draws behind me (KQ, QJ, QT, 89).

- This is cheaper than calling $25, $75, $150??... if I'm beaten.

Raising allows him to get away from his hand right here. If he doesn't raise, what do you do on the turn when villain bets the pot or 3/4 pot? I don't think you lose less by just calling.

opponent is showing a lot of aggression when you say he has no real aggressive tendencies...there's nothing really you beat that he would do this with, especially on this relatively drawless flop.
