Lots of great matchups. The one I'm most interested in is Hennigan/Flack, I'm rooting for either of these guys to win the whole enchilada.

Looks like the pre-tourney favorites got byes, Buss/Negreanu, Woods/Chan.

Others I'd like to watch include TBruson/Lindgren, Friedman/Farha, Juanda/Giang, SNguyen/Caro, Williams/Mortensen, Raymer/Liebert, Pham/Seed, Tomko/Phillips, Hellmuth/MNguyen, Lederer/Esfandiari, Ivey/Sklansky, Fischman/Duke.

What a great, great tourney.

At The Bicycle, they had a mini heads up tournament in preparation for this, and Jerry Buss won it, so he is at least capable of playing in this format, how well he will do against Daniel is another story.

If they released an unedited version on DVD I would buy it in a heartbeat. That many maches would be amazing.

I hope to god they dont screw this one up.

Have they listed the blind structure any where? I assume they will be given a lot of chips to play with...

Looking a little closer, Daniel's bracket is loaded. Whoever comes out of that group will have really earned it.

The heads-up format would lend itself particularly well to live TV. You don't have to worry about a match going on for many hours. If poker has truly arrived at the level of other sports, let's see more live broadcasts.

Anyone notice they dropped the field bet to 25/1? If they're going to offer a bet that can't be won, the least they could do is offer decent odds on it.

An interesting RULE that is in play during this tournament:

Exposing hole cards
Since all the matches are heads up, and the players action cannot influence the outcome of other matches, we are allowing the players to expose one or both of their hole cards during a hand if they feel that they can use this tactic to their advantage.

Also, in the Ivey profile in Cardplayer a few weeks ago, he talks about how, when he was trying to move up to 100-200 (or 200-400?), he'd grind all week at 75-150 (grind?) to get his bankroll up for the bigger limit and Orenstein would kill him every weekend when he sat down with him. He said it went on for 6 months until he was able to break through.
