Don't ISPs provision MAC addresses so that only the hardware (modem) registered to you can be used to connect to the internet? Or did they stop doing that when they stopped charging for multiple computers to be connected at the same location?

some of them do, comcast does not. I found this out when they replaced my cable modem while troubleshooting connectivity problems.
Replacing the cable modem solved the problem and they left the original modem with me and said to switch it out again the the problem reoccured.

Unless Party has changed something recently, I don't think altering your IP address will help. I tried this myself. I downloaded a program off the Internet that changes the way your IP address appears to others, and it did not allow me to make multiple accounts. Yes, it is true that for dial-up, you get assigned a new IP address every time you connect to the Internet. This is why I find it hard to believe that Party relies solely on IP address to prevent the creating of multiple accounts. Not only would it be VERY ineffective in deterring users from making multiple accounts at the same computer, but it could also prevent someone from signing up for an account even if they have not signed up for one already.
Tracking your MAC address is a possibility. I don't know a whole lot about MAC addresses, but I suppose that it could be a method that Party uses since it has something to do with the computer's Internet connection. It could be any number of things. Windows allows third parties to access so much information on your computer that Party could be using any one of a million methods to identify computers. Hell, if they really wanted to, they could identify you by the various porno downloads you have hidden in your C drive. My gut tells me that it's still something in the Windows registry. There must be another file(s) that Party tags your computer with when you access the server. Those fat cats at Party have caught on to the UCID hack, but it's only a matter of time before someone finds another loophole in the system. All in good time.

[/ QUOTE ] I apologize if one of the other 25 replies has already said this, but i don't want to read them all. Typically, the IP address is tied to the MAC in your cable modem. There is often a method to hard-reset them, dumping the configuration file and completely renewing the IP address (usually with a different one). If your cable modem doens't have a reset button, then you're probably SOL for that route. So instead, fry your modem. Just break part of the electrical circut so that it shorts out regularly (or just claim that it shorts regularly) and make them replace your modem. That will sever any ties to your old IP address for most ISPs. Freakin

[/ QUOTE ] you are correct. i did the things alp said to do, and i got a new ip address. then, i regedited and uninstalled my other party programs. still no luck. btw, now that party saves hand histories on your comp, they can use that to tell if have an account. i deleted that folder too, but still no luck. oh well. i have so many friggin hands to play that it doesn't really matter.
