Did you hear that Oliver Stone is going to film a hit piece on Maggie Thatcher? Still trying to redefine history with a liberal spin.

Synth says:

Many Canadians that speak of the war always mention "his main purpose was the oil", "Bush is an [censored] attacking a nation over oil" etc, etc. This is pure Michael Moore bs, Bush is main goal for going into Iraq was....

Synth further says that one of the main goals was:
3) oil - The biggest issue that so few understand. Oil is one of the Western Hemispheres biggest resources, Canada (a nation in North America that is supposed to be stacked with oil) still ships 25% of their oil from Britian. When a Nation decides to use that resource against the people that need it the most, that becomes an issue.

Seems like the Michael Moore BS is the Synth BS too. The first two reasons are garbage. The canadians and MM who say Oil are correct. You are all over the field!

2)Weapons of mass destruction -
He has said that he was misinformed by his people that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq (a point Bush takes alot of heat over).

[/ QUOTE ]
Even if you believe he was mislead by his own "people", he's still responsible for the mistake. Don't you see that?

[ QUOTE ]

Bush can't predict the future when he hires these people, i'm sure if he knew they would have misinformed him he would have never hired them.

[/ QUOTE ]
Naive. Do you really think Bush found out Saddam had WMD and then wanted to invade Iraq? It was pretty obvious it was part of their plans regardless of any "evidence" of WMD. I don't care if it was right or wrong to go there, we are there now, but I don't agree with the means Bush used to get us there.

[ QUOTE ]

This doesn't mean it wasn't an issue and he had no right to go in their just because the outcome was infact false.

[/ QUOTE ]
Everyone's saying now how bad Saddam was, what an evil person. True. But before the war started the message was, they have WMD's, we can't wait for the "mushroom cloud". I sat there and watched him say that, in front of the nation.

So sure you can say we were justified to go there for that reason (Saddam's crimes against his people), but that was not the argument for going to war. Get it?

How does a man have this much influence over so many people? How come so many Americans don't realize most of Michaels points have already been proven to be crap. What would be the reason so many people still happen to watch his films and support the man? It seems like he's brainwashing several Americans into believing crap.

[/ QUOTE ]

Obviously Moore doesn't have THAT much influnece since Bush won with a margin of almost 4 million votes. I don't think he brainwashed anyone. He just told a bunch of lefties what they wanted to hear. He's hust preaching to the chior.

Could you please tick off for me all the factual inaccuracies? Then, I'll be able to respond a bit better. Or at least mention a few.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hell's bells, the guy painted pre-war Iraq as this peaceful utopia where an enlightened, happy population spent their leisure time flyling kites and sharing ice-cream.

Here's a list. Scroll down about a page or so to the table of contents.

'factual inaccuracies'

Sounds oppungant John, making your statement border on opprobiousness.

From the article posted by Earlcat:

[ QUOTE ]
Fahrenheit 9/11 states, "In his first eight months in office before September 11th, George W. Bush was on vacation, according to the Washington Post, forty-two percent of the time."

Shortly before 9/11, the Post calculated that Bush had spent 42 percent of his presidency at vacation spots or en route, including all or part of 54 days at his ranch. That calculation, however, includes weekends, which Moore failed to mention.

[/ QUOTE ]

Having a supposed stupid president on vacation almost half the time would be good for the country - no?

Okay, but the original poster mentioned Bowling for Columbine specifically.

Typical 2 wrongs make a right left-wing logic.....

Similiarly,

If there is going to be racial discrimination out there we shouldnt enforce laws forbidding it rather we should mandate that the federal state, and local governments(along with any universities they run or do business with engage in systematic rascism.

Those measures obviously lead to less rascism..........

P.S. Does Rush Limbaugh tout himself as the spokesman for the lower middles class?? Does he talk about his upbrining in Flint Mi show a dilapidated row of houses in downtown flint and talk about how GM crushed his life by their "greed"?? Of course his real house was situated in a prim and proper suburb which was almost entirely white and affluent. The difference between Rush and Moore is a hypocrite...Rush is just a garden variety idealogue. BTW im not a big fan of either.
