Looking at the river action also would indicate the villian probably does have the flush and was wanting the CR as he reraised. I'm thinking it's more like A2-5 or A8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] as I think A9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] deserves more of a bet on the flop due to the TPTK status even with the nut draw. AK-J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] may have received a raise PF so that counts them out (maybe).

Forget the river in this particular case - if the 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] fell instead and UTG came out betting Hero would have had to fold without a good read to suggest the contrary. [/ QUOTE ] I'd much rather check the turn and call a small bet on a blank river, than bet and fold to a raise on the turn. |

The river underbet after that flop and turn action reeks of 8s9s or 99. I would fold to the river bet.

I think it's correct to call but not raise that bet - Villian could have 99 or 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] but there are plenty of hands he beats. (nut flush for example) |
