Combining them is the worst idea ever.

i'd rather vote on if they should split mid-high stakes limit into 2 categories,

high stakes being something like 30-60 +

and mid being 10/20 - 25/50 ( or something like that)

I like that idea. Right now Mid-stakes is stuck posting somewhere between SS and HS forums.

I would rather see it further split
Nano-limit for big bet under $.25
Micro-limit for big bet $.25 to $.50
Low limit for big bet $1-$4
Small starting at $6 and then the rest the same.

No offence but I honestly can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not (which is weird because I'm naturally a very sarcastic person)

Too many forums, too much confusion. And those higher players wanting to help aren't going to want to go through 3 separate micro forums to help. Quality of advice would suffer and the nano players would be left to fend for themselves (shudder).

If you were being sarcastic, then feel free to poke fun at me. The following list should provide some fodder:
a) I'm pretty skinny for a 6'3" 21 year old male.
b) I absolutely love Sarah McLachlan (good music + milf)
c) I am Canadian (ie. currency value, igloos etc, beavers, mounties etc...)

Cheers

I'd rather have feedback from someone who actually plays at/close to the limit I'm playing than from someone who hasn't.

In fact, I think further subdivision might be a good idea. A forum for each standard BB amount in limit games would allow people to get feedback from those who they play against. It would also allow threads to stay near the top longer because of the high volume both here and on the micro boards.

I'd recommend a separate forum each limit that the largest poker rooms offer and have regular games for.

Mabye that's too much, though.

Of course, this doesn't help the live players much. Just saw a 7.50/15 post, and I don't know if any site offers that.

I'd rather have feedback from the high stakes posters.

This seems like overkill.

The semantic difference between micros and SS isn't so much the size of the bets per se. The difference is really in how fundamental the issues are.

In micros, most questions are comparitively pretty fundamental. Things like "how do I count my outs," or, "How should I play PF," and "should I call or raise with TPTK." Everybody has to start thier poker career by asking these questions, and micros is the place to ask them.

In SS, questions start to be harder to answer, with lines that are less clear. The play gets more sophisticated, and the knowledge requirements for understanding the correct plays gets steeper.

Here's another way of looking at this: In micros, we learn how to play poker. In SS, we begin to learn how to play very well.

This is why I think merging the two forums is a terrible idea. I know when I first started posting, it would have been dangerous to my bankroll to come straight to SS, thereby skipping the fundamental questions. New players need to have a forum of thier own where they won't be overwhelmed by subtle, hard to understand concepts when what they need to be concentrating on are the basics.
