Part of the dealer's job is to keep track of what's in the pot so that he can take the correct rake. I imagine these dealers are being instructed to stack the pot, but a dealer who needs to do it should be fired for incompetence.

The games were like this even before poker on TV was ubiquitous.
Once you play a few times, you will just know how much money is on the pot, and if ever you don't, you will be able to replay the hand quickly enough to figure it out. Truth be told, it usually isn't very important to know the exact dollar amount. -Michael |

I only played once in a BandM and I kept track of big bets. preflop and flop i divided by two. is this a normal way to keep(pretty close) track?
