That is exactly right. Now why would they want to reward someone who played 1000 hands over 10 days the same as someone who played 10,000 hands in one day? The 10,000 hand guy created 10x the rake income.

Like I said, truly brilliant.

I think you are missing the point for the Empire VIP club. It was set up for their affiliates who got instant membership automatically. The rest of us will just have to wait as they intended. Square root that!!

The VIP Club was not set up for the affiliates. That is just nonsense.

The question is how they are calculated every day. Are they calculated by taking the square root of the total number of hands per day? Or do they calculate each day based on number of hands played at each table (hence encouraging table hopping)?

Either way, it seems a little silly. Square rooting someone's hands is foolish as a way of promoting more play, it seems to me.

I don't need you to tell me I'm "missing" anything. Feel free to rant about your hatred for affiliate programs until you're blue in the face, but refrain from doing so while implying that I'm "missing a point" that I'm not. No need to drag me into your tirade. Thank you.

not all affiliate became VIP's right-away.....and not all VIP's are affiliates.

after 2 pts you ALWAYS have to play two more hands then your previous segment to receive the next point....
after 2 pts you have to play 5 more hds to get the next pt.
after 3 pts you have to play 7 more hds to get the next pt.
after 4 pts you have to play 9 more hds to get the next pt
after 5 pts you have to play 11 more hds to get the next pt...
etc
etc

1 = 1pt
4 = 2pts
9 = 3pts
16 = 4pts
25 = 5pts
36 = 6pts
49 = 7pts

after a while you have to play 115 hands to get the next point....and after that you're rewarded by having to play 117 more hds to get the next pt after that.

they are truly idiots and don't seem to understand that they are punishing the players who play there more.

reminds me of the king who granted the dude one wish and he just wanted 1 grain of rice on the first square of a check-board and then that total doubled for each square until the 64th square.
the king, relieved, granted him the wish right away because he didn't realize that by the end of the checkboard he was promising more rice then existed on the entire planet.

will someone please tell empire that squares and square-roots move pretty quickly.

i think 4k raked hands in a single-day is probably the realistic max...and you'd have to be pretty focused to do this.
10 hrs of 4 short tables at 100 hds/hr gets you 4k hands...but they won't all be raked. add even more hands per hour AND a few more hours and then maybe you can make it.

since 60^2=3600 and 70^2=4900 then i am guessing you will get around 65 whopping pts for your 4k raked hands.

of course, you can get more pts by merely playing 100 hds a day over the course of a week (100 hds =10 pts * 7 days = 70 pts).

so, if i play 700 hds this week i get 70 pts....
but if i play 4000 hds today i get 65 pts....

brilliant!!!

In davidross's last weekly report he mentioned that he is averaging 2000 vip points per month. Im not sure how many hands per month or hours that he plays. But it is certainly lots.

i also remember him saying something around 15k-17k hds per week in p-tracker.

2.5k/day * 6 days = 15k hds

50 * 50 = 2500
so 2.5k hds = 50pts
50 pts * 6 days = 300pts * 4 wks = 1200 pts

and then double the point total if he is already a VIP member and that can get you to 2400 pts/mth.

of course, this only works if every single one of his hds is a raked hand which it isn't of course.
but i only calculated for 15k hds per mth and i think that might be on the lower end for david so the fact that i started with a slightly lower number of total hds begins to make up for the fact that some of the hds he plays aren't raked.

2000 pts/mth looks to be very realistic for david's play as best i can tell.

It kind of surprises me that more of you guys haven't reached VIP status. I only play ring games on Empire and have 7156 EPoints as of yesterday. I "only" play between 2500 and 3000 hands/wk on there.
