One more follow-up post...

Like MTBlue said, the hands my opponents were holding (99/Q8) were about the best situation I could hope for on average. Even if I pushed, BB calls, and MP2 folded his top pair (unlikely given the player but anyways), i'd be slightly less than a 3:2 favorite and getting roughly 5:4. There's some value there, but obviously we can't be that precise during the hand and this is probably the best situation we could hope for. So when you factor in the possibility I'm against 2pair/straight/set and drawing very thin (or something like flushdraw+pair where I'm slight underdog) it looks like a fold is the correct play...even against these sort of players.
