AA vs connected, 2-tone board and aggression

Both opponents have shown a consistent trend to overplay top pair/overpair type hands, especially MP2.

Raise to $15 you absolutely need to find out where you are at. The flop lead of $1 means absolutely nothing at this point.

Be vary of the 2nd raiser.

i agree with maulik - a raise is in order and be cautious afterwards.

Raise to $15

Thanks Maulik,

That'd leave me with about $12 left after my raise, should I just go ahead and push it immediately or would that be too much? I assume I'm calling any re-raise if I commit more than 1/2 my stack?

i think if you raise to 15 and dont stick it all in there, you'll be pushing any non [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] turn

Thanks guys,

Re: AA vs connected, 2-tone board and aggression

I'm going with a fold. This board hit alot of calling hands and both players seem to like their hands and both of the are probably at least a coinflip. Even if MP2 is overplaying a pair of tens I don't think that this is a profitable situation. The odds you are getting if you push are terrible (6:5ish) and I really don't think you'll get many calls from hands that you dominate. Btw I think a push is the only other option besides a fold. You're going to have something like 29 scare cards on the turn. I don't want to figure out what draw my opponent is on with 65% of my stack in the middle.

Interesting, are you taking into consideration the fact that these opponents are prone to overplay their hands? I totally agree this isn't an optimium sitaution for AA given the texture of the board and the aggression I'm facing.

I did consider laying it down, but it was difficult for me to find a fold against these two (against a solid opponent(s); however, I'd tend to agree with you completely). Maybe I'm even overvaluing my hand against these sort of players too.

Thanks for your input,
J

EDITED TO ADD: MP2 would have raised preflop with any pocket pair, I definitely should have put that in the original post. I'm more worried about straight/two pair with him. Sorry.

Re: AA vs connected, 2-tone board and aggression

The key thing is this hand is that you don't have any redraws and you'll have to put in your stack on the flop when both opponents likely are drawing live. Heads up I push this most of the time. Three-way its tricky b/c you probably have one of them dominated and are in coinflipped/dominated position with the other.

I didn't see it that way at all, but running the numbers you're exactly right, wow. (BB had 99, MP2 had Q8)
