Do you really want to get 3-bet here? I don't. I'm not too thrilled about putting in 3 bets on a street against 2 opponents when I'm probably 4-1 to make the best hand. Worse if he's sitting on a set. I know it's a weird way to play a set, but I've seen it. I would just call down from here, unless UTG wakes up with a raise. I don't expect to win UI very often, but I think it's often enough given the pot odds.

The turn raise is definitely not a spew. Often, villain will have something like KJ and is just using the sng to defend against a free card play. UTG appears to be on some kind of a draw (probably spades), and a turn raise allows you to simultaneously punish SB for being over-aggressive and charge UTG for his draw.

Having said that, I would probably want some kind of a read on SB before I raised here. Getting 3-bet would suck because I would have to pay it off. And the turn raise doesn't really work as a "free showdown" play since I would want to value-bet the river if checked to when a blank hits. And like others have said, I definitely want SB to bet into me if a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] comes on the river.

All things considered, I would just call the turn, but raising isn't necessarily a mistake.

--blind response--

I like the raise. SB could easily have called your preflop raise with a worse jack, and this would be for value. He would have reraised pf with an overpair. With UTGs dead money in there, I'd cap for value should you get threebet and spike a diamond on the river.

you're probably ahead, you've got 12 outs to beat a wonky two pair, and 9 to beat a set.

Raise looks good. Calling is not bad though - your probably behind. If your flush comes in, the turn raise helps disguise it.
