Wouldn't a turn bet (in position) be more likely to shut out a worse ace, who has to worry about another bet before showdown?

check turn, bet river
you bet the turn, you bloat the pot in the river you bet the turn, what are you doing if he bets 2/3 pot on river? you bet the turn, what are you doing when he checks? betting 1/2 pot, folding to a raise? ugly. checking behind? ugly. check turn, making him "pay to hit his kicker" is silly, he has 3 outs most likely, or we are wayyy behind and have 0-3 outs. the EV of getting him to "value bet" his weaker aces outweighs the chance that he hits one of his few outs. do you really think he calls another 2/3 to pot-sized bet on the turn with something like A2-A7? even if he does, is he going to call another bet on the river? this is clearly a WA/WB situation, no huge draws out there check turn, bet river is a very good line to take here the times i do bet turn + river is when i have a good read of him as a calling station |
