[ QUOTE ] You may just be drawing to a chop. But I don't think you can fold, getting 22:1. [/ QUOTE ] Even if we knew we were drawing to a chop, we should still call. By the way, in that case, can we consider our odds basically halved? (That's what I'm thinking, at least.) [/ QUOTE ] If we somehow knew for certain that we were drawing to a chop with one other player, then, yes, our outs would be halved. Incidentally, it's possible we're only chopping on non-diamond 5's, and it's also possible we're chopping three ways when we catch. (Also, if someone happens to have 74, we could be drawing dead.) So we don't definitely have the odds to stay in. Still, I think that we'll have enough outs on average and that we need to call. |

I think the size of the pot and the tremendous odds we're being given balance out the possibility of a flush draw, split pot, and 74. I don't think we can be very aggressive on the river if a 5 comes, but I think we'll win often enough with even just the 5's to make a call on the turn profitable. |

i'm not trying to be mean by singling out tehox or anything, but this kind of post is a good reason to always think before accepting any advice on the forum. this turn call should be basic instinct; there is no excuse for suggesting folding here. [/ QUOTE ] I think I have an excuse. I suck at poker. |
