Re: A hand for your examination
Grunching...
Flop: They COULD be checking to the flop raiser expecting a bet or even wanting to check raise (which is good). Bet the flop. Also, I think that a bet from lp after it's checked around if you raised preflop isn't really respected. Turn: Raise for value. There are no overcalls since you close the action. You want money on your hand. River: I have no idea why you didn't cap that river. |

You missed like a billion bets here. Bet the flop. Given that you didn't bet the flop, raise the turn. Cap the river. You have the second nuts. The only street you played properly was pre-flop. [/ QUOTE ] I guess I did, I am a recovering victim of tilt fever. You do not think that I would have lost players by betting out? |

Re: A hand for your examination
I don't think slow playing was that bad. How many callers on that flop do you realistically expect betting out? One seems reasonable. The way you played it, you got two big bets on the turn, but you must raise the turn here. That is a complete and total waste. Most likely they will pay another BB to see the river. The river non-raise is unthinkable as well. I can think of so many hands that will 3-bet that you beat and only one that you lose to. I think you missed too many bets ultimately. By the way, there are plenty of people who like to bluff paired boards on the flop. If I suspected there were some here, I would bet for sure. Since you are in position, they will probably have to continue the bluff out of position on the turn building a nice pot in the process.

Re: A hand for your examination
slowplaying the flop is fine. If that's the decision you want to make, go ahead. But you need to get more bets in on the turn. Especially since at this point BB seemed willing to screw with you at least somewhat, you're giving away money by not going at it on the turn.

Its possible that someone could have been slowplaying trip Q's. However I suspect that when all the other players checked the flop, that none of them had anything. [/ QUOTE ] Thats kind of what I was thinking but when the turn woke up everyone I had to think about someone getting luckier than I did on the hand and was playing a AA. |
