Leak alert!!!! Any line that has you folding in this decent sized pot on the river is probably a mistake.

Check/call is MILES ahead of bet/fold.

think how many times he checks thru w/ a mid pair, that he would have called you with. You are losing 1 BB everytime he checks thru. By betting and folding you lose 1 BB, the same amount you lose by check/calling.

When you bet/fold you don't lose 1 bet, you lose 11 bets.

Exaggerated, but you get the point. Folding a hand that has a decent chance of being ahead in a big pot is a DISASTER.

If we're raised here, we're not good 1 in 11 times.

Only thing I'd change would be a preflop 3-bet followed by a flop lead.

noone is really going to fold for 1 more bet having already put one in. The power of this check raise comes form leading the turn afterwards imo.

Go easy on me I'm new - but you really missing a lot of value ?
The way I see it the only hands you beat that will call are 7's and 9's - he can't have the other mid pairs because he would have trips. He is not going to call with a busted flush or straight or over cards.
You will get raised by an A or straight, and called by a bigger pair.

I guess I would rather gain some hand info with the check/call over the bet/fold - and I hate the bet/call line he took (of course).

What do you (and others who think a river bet/fold is the proper course of action) believe was the range of hands UTG was betting into the PF raiser and calling the check-raiser with on the flop? How does that range change, if at all, when UTG calls the turn bet from the flop check-raiser?
