i was clearly not rational at the time - i cold called with AJo preflop (um, i mean, "misclick"). i'm not saying i was correct - just being honest about my thoughts at the time

BTW, I think preflop is a large enough error that I'm willing to comment on it. Twice. Especially since I know it wasn't a misclick but was instead a moment of weakness.

This is exactly what I was going to post. This looks like a good time to wait for the river to stick in a raise.

I'd take my chances and pop the turn.

I don't like waiting for the river when I don't mind being 3-bet on the turn.

Yeah I think the fact that the guy is tilting leans me towards a turn raise. If I think the guy is donking a smaller ace I might wait until the river.

haha. point taken. you're entirely justified. i know the pf mistake was extremely bad and i just wanted to deflect attention to postflop to the extent possible. i'm playing scared/passive when i shoot high and then trying to justify my weakness and passivity to myself as somehow acceptable. after all, i did win a small pot....blah blah blah. blech. bad poker.

so i really appreciate the criticism (from you and everyone) - hopefully it will stop me from continuing my weak/passive/fancy ways.

But.. agh.. ugh.. must.. say.. raise.. must say rrrraaaaise.

*wrestles self to ground*

Standard newb to carp "I'm a newb" caveat goes here.

Anyway, I think there's either a SB or a BB left on the table. I think an aggressive but not insane player here has A10, A9s, A8s KK, QQ, JJ, 10's, 9's here (the continuation bet on the call is mandatory for an PF agressive player, surely).

A LAGy player on flop is going to call on of the A hands, KK, QQ, JJ, but probably get away from worse hands. I'd then assume he'd go into C/call on later streets, rather than fold.

I guess that means it depends whether you want to force him to define his hand now (AK,AQ will three bet) or wait till turn (and hence get the BB), with the additional chance that he hits one of his 2 or 3 outs (I guess you have to add into this the fact that you might get an extra bet from say 10's 99, 88 by flat calling flop).

Either way, i think it's fairly marginal, but since you don't have any info about his hand, I think you have to raise the turn come what may, otherwise, almost no card is safe (If worried by a Q, be more worried by a 10, a 9, a 8- I mean, you're already beaten by AQ!).

I look forward to reading others comments.
