Uh, which witch hunt? Got a link?
I can't believe that PokerAce would be bad but PlayerView/Gametime would be OK. They basically do the same thing. |

I hope you're right. PokerAce is the titties.

You may be confusing PokerAce with PokerEDGE, which was banned.
Party (at least for now) is cool with HUDs like PA and GT+. |

I find it's easier to multi-table full ring as reads tend to be less important than in 6-max (you'll find yourself heads up after the flop much less often for one thing). I also prefer 6-max though - and for 6-max I usually 2-table and occasionally 3-table (after I've been beating a limit for a while). Start with 2 as you can still get great reads with 2 tables going (it may even turn out to be more profitable for you to 2-table 3-6 than 4-tabling 1/2).
Take as many notes as possible as your reads are what will suffer the most. The important notes to take are things which pokertracker/pokerace will not show you (or not very well anyway). If someone sees 70% of the flops it's not important to note that they limped Q2o, but it would be important to note they raised Q3s utg if they only raise 15% of the time. Also note things like cold calling preflop, bluff-raising missed flush draws or scary boards, betting draws (especially on the turn), calling down gutshots without odds, etc. You will miss some things but try to focus on unusual actions you happened to notice. When there's a ton of things going on, focus on the big hands/big pots and don't worry as much about the marginal situations where calling and folding are close (especially when first starting out). |

[ QUOTE ]
If you were going to multi-table, I'd say start out with two, then once you get comfortable, work up to 3, then 4. Also, playing full tables will make it a lot easier on you, until you figure out what you're doing. [/ QUOTE ] I have a different program for multi-tabling. Adding one table at a time is for the weak! Do this instead. Set aside some time to practice multi tabling. Get one or more party skins going and get into as many free tables as your setup will reasonably allow. Start with 4. Do this for a couple of hours. Try to play your A game. Rest an hour or more. Come back and do 6 tables for an hour. Another rest and try 8 if your setup will handle it. Just figure out what your limit is. Get used to the rythm of mutliple tables. (it's like the ocean surf, wave, wave, wave, big ebb, big crashing wave.) Now go to sleep. It's very important that you go to bed as soon as you can after the most intense session you can get going on your setup. The last thing you do before you go to bed gets a big learning boost. Now come back and see if 2 or 3 tables at your money making limit seems reasonable or even a little slow. -D |

[ QUOTE ] I was a little concerned abot PokerAce because of that big witch hunt from pokerextreme a few months ago. Are we sure that pokerace is on the 'approved' software list for Party n' friends? [/ QUOTE ] Why must you rain on my parade? [/ QUOTE ] i have been using pokerace for the last month at party and empire (and stars, and eurobet) without a problem. afaik, playerview, gametime, pokerace, and pokertracker are ok software. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, PokerAce is AOK. Party et al. were only tracking down on Poker Edge, which shared HH's with others. Also, if you don't read the Zoo or the software forum, it's pretty easy to miss hearing about PokerAce. PokerAce is repeatedly lauded in both forums, but I think this is the first time I've read it here. The only downside to PokerAce is the time you have to spend initially getting everything the way you want it. Changing all the fonts from the default ugly thing to a bold Arial font is well worth it, though. |

I can 4-table full ring, but only 2-table 6-max. (Of course, I only have about 3k hands in 6-max.) And I always start with 2, move to 3, then add a 4th if I feel comfortable. |
